The AFL-CIO nor the Building Trades unions have never trended a single Tweet.
Twitter has changed a few countries entire regimes and has changed the course of politics and business in this country alone thousands of times now.
Labor is sitting on some 12 million social signals and has yet to use them even once. So with a whole new Republican Congress which will be very aggressive towards unions, we better get a handle on bringing pressure to bear using social media.
Late next week our partner Leading Labor will direct an ongoing effort to train thru posts and videos in how to use Twitter. WE will also work with and recruit the many different groups we belong into an effective and aggressive force with the single intent to trend a single Tweet by April.
Understand that we are playing in the minor leagues at the start, but many pros started there too. We will work to build a platform that deals us back into the game on a whole host of issues, however we are going to keep focused for the first Tweet on one, no more than two pieces of Right to Work legislation in a couple of areas.
Our mission is to stop the anti-worker momentum of the RTW forces at the local level and show that we can win and then increase to other activities from there.
Also here is a link to Leading Labors website. Dan Woodman has an Android app which is live on the Google Play store. If you have an Android device, you can download it here. http://leadinglabor.com/2015-its-going-to-be-a-big-year/ The iPhone version is “in the system” and will be live once Apple has approved it.
Since technology and social media are changing the way the world works and communicates, either we bring to bear our combined strength, or we continue to let others dictate the tune. It is totally on us to join the 21st Century my Brothers & Sisters and we can no longer wait on anyone to do it – so the Rank & File will.
Time to win!
